Regency joins forces with our very own resident, Ruth and the Ronald McDonald House Charities to collect pop tabs. Save your metallic pop tabs from any can to help us reach our goal of 2 million tabs collected at Regency. Saved tabs can be dropped off in the front office or in the TeamUp boxes located throughout the campus. The tabs collected help earn up to $6,000 per year that directly supports families at Ronald McDonald House Charities to access the care they need.
Recycling plastic bags and turning them into a sleeping mat to provide comfort and insulation for those in need. Residents meet weekly to collect the plastic bags and knit them into Mercy Mats. No knitting experience required, anyone can participate. The completed mats are donated to local homeless shelters. This labor of love is a rewarding hobby to participate in!
Partnering with local charities like St. Vincent de Paul by collecting gently used clothes, household items, and furniture donations. Help us fill up our bus to deliver items that help our neighbors in need.
Another great event where staff and residents team up to collect donations and join in an optional 2 mile walk to raise money for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Everyone is invited to participate, so invite your family and friends to join the Regency team for this wonderful cause!
For many years, Regency has been partnering with the US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots to provide toys to children in need and keep Christmas spirit alive! Unwrapped gifts can be placed in the donation boxes located near the front office of each campus. Boxes can be filled starting in October and are picked up mid December each year.
Recognizing the growing need in our community for winter weather protection, Regency residents and staff work together to sew, knit or purchase warm items such as hats, mittens, scarfs, and socks for those in need. The collection of items are displayed on the Mitten Tree from December – February and donated to a new organization each year. This year over 800 items were donated to The Milwaukee Rescue Mission.
